Aspects of Anglicanism ~ and in favour of direct lay elections to Synod
Laity 10 for, 23 against
Clergy 16 for, 17 against, 1 abstention
Bishops 2 for
Some common sense at last! It's fascinating how the bishops are toeing the line. There won't be a single episcopal vote against in any Diocesan Synod but the laity are free to vote with their conscience and the clergy partly so. Hence the Wakefield results.
Let's hope this starts a trend.
