I think it highly unlikely Rowan will recognise it in any formal sense (and I think only the ACC can admit a new Province to the table). But I can see Rowan offering a form of words that will keep the hopes of the new province alive.

Whether Bob himself will be crowned king of the new country is a moot point.

Nonetheless his actions contribute to pile stones on top of the waiting avalanche.Paul Bagshawhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17694279608748668806noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5108550303571033600.post-48471891624960553502008-09-24T01:23:00.000+01:002008-09-24T01:23:00.000+01:00Bishop Duncan has been dodging and weaving for a l...Bishop Duncan has been dodging and weaving for a long time and, before he could run with the family silver first, he has been cut out. He has intended to set up a North American province all the way along. The people making all these statements are the usual suspects and they'll all just have to go on being disappointed.Pluralist (Adrian Worsfold)https://www.blogger.com/profile/01922153724523820866noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5108550303571033600.post-57636579038586610502008-09-23T14:33:00.000+01:002008-09-23T14:33:00.000+01:00Support for Bishop Bob seems to be a bit half-hear...Support for Bishop Bob seems to be a bit half-hearted. They have even had to drag Peter Akinola out of Africa to sign up. Read Chew's letter carefully and note that it's not as affirming of Duncan as it might be.

I suspect that this is just the action (deposing Duncan) that is required on the part of the American Episcopal Church. It will stop schismatics and troublemakers in their tracks as they won't to want to leave the Anglican Communion for an untried collection of crackpot ideas and general lunacy. Watch the Diocese of Sydney for example, it's noisy but won't leave.

Poor old Bob the sacrificial lamb, he's the one 'walking apart', it's all a bit sad.Concerned Anglicanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07428294874876279091noreply@blogger.com
